Weekly event: McDowell Mountain Park 10th Anniversary Party
So I don't need to point out the obvious, but it has gotten to be crazy hot over the last few weeks. And, the heat is supposed to continue through early next week. While we are all ready for the break from summer and cooler weather, there is one benefit: more swimming!
McDowell Mountain Aquatic center, one of the premier city pools and events centers is celebrating their 10th birthday this weekend. On Saturday, September 2nd between 1-5, go to the pool and construction photos, extra games, and free snow cones!
For city pools, the McDowell Mountain Aquatic center is easily one of the best in the country. It features multiple pools, including a zero step and low grade entrance. There is a larger pool for swimming laps. Toddlers and kids can enjoy the splash pad while older kids (and us adults!) can zoom down the water slides. There is also a lazy river for everyone to enjoy.
It's a great way to get one last splash before the slides and river close down for the winter. Pack some sunscreen and beach towels and have fun!
